CHISHOLM CREEK SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION
Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust
Triad designed the new 48" and 54" sanitary sewer relief line, which parallels an
existing 33" sanitary sewer line constructed in the 1960's for the Chisholm Creek
watershed. The Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust contracted the infrastructure
improvement project which contains 9,600 feet of 54" sanitary sewer pipe and 6,600
feet of 48" sanitary sewer line with junction boxes and manholes. Triad's Preliminary
Design Report recommended the optimal alignment with consideration of key factors:
constructability, traffic disruption, neighborhood disturbance, future line maintenance,
utility relocations and required easements. Construction and re-channelization were
accomplished with a minimal loss of trees and vegetation and sensitivity to the
aesthetics of neighborhoods adjacent to the creek. The new relief line, along with
the existing 33-inch line serving The Village, Edmond and northwest Oklahoma City
will provide the sewer capacity for the fully developed drainage basin.
